WDRB 3

upon looking at WDRB's past reported stories I find a particular liking to a few; this being one of them. This article is an excellent piece because of how thorough the writer wasin researching the piece. For example it gave statistical data when it was said that at least, "96% of detox beds at a local drug recovery center are filled with heroin addicts." The part of the story that is the most interesting is that people are turing to heroin because it is cheaper then pain medicine. It can not be said for all addicts but for some the reason for taking heroin is for pain. Mike Hall was interviewed and he said "An 80 milligram of a medication I would pay $80 but for a half a gram of heroin I would pay $50."

On October 21, 2013c like the other local news stations, WDRB reported on the Gibson trial and did what could be said to be a decent amount of coverage on the actual broadcast story. However when you get to the written story that WDRB posted on their site,  you will see them found into much greater details that were left or on TV. They put in quotes from the trial, even the one where Gibson told Detective Cary East,  "I wish you would just shoot me. " They also included other information for example how Gibson was accused of at least two other murders: Karen Hodella in 2002 and Stephanie Kiro in 2012.

Wdrb

After looking at WDRB and comparing it to the other news sources that we have had in Journalism 1 I find it most interesting how WDRB does really go out of the way to cover international stories. Given that they aren't as good as CJ as far as depth but it shows that they are there for the public to see. WDRB has however shown more international stories then that of the courier journal or any of the other local news channels,  which is giving the public a better opportunity to know what is going on as well as a source of the highlighted information that they wouldn't otherwise have.
